Every force is a push or a pull — and the difference is all about which way it goes:

• A push moves something away from you (kicking a ball).
• A pull brings something towards you (reeling in a fish).

We draw a force as an arrow. The arrow points the way the force goes, and a longer arrow means a stronger force.

Switch between push and pull and watch the arrow flip. Then make the force bigger — see how the wagon travels further when you push or pull harder.
