NGSS writes middle school as a single Grades 6–8 band. This is where the everyday ideas become measured and modelled: the particle model of matter, forces and motion, energy and its transfer, waves, electricity and magnetism, and the solar system. NGSS MS-PS1–4 and MS-ESS1. Builds on Grade 5; leads into high-school physics.
