IB Primary Years Programme Mathematics (PYP)

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP, ages 3–12) is inquiry-based and transdisciplinary. Rather than fixed grades, its mathematics is a learning continuum organised into four phases, each developed across the five PYP strands — number, pattern and function, measurement, shape and space and data handling. Each phase below is a course you can focus on; move on when the ideas are secure, not on a fixed birthday.

The learning continuum

  1. Phase 1
  2. Phase 2
  3. Phase 3
  4. Phase 4

From here, learners continue into the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in secondary school.
